Taylor Wimpey have submitted a planning application to deliver a new, integrated and sustainable neighbourhood in an attractive, well-landscaped setting. The site for these proposals is Land West of Hoo, between Peninsula Way and Main Road.
This planning application follows extensive consulation, including over 4,000 invitations distributed locally, a series of focus groups and meetings with local residents and representatives to establish a vision which would best suit the needs of the local community.
Based on the conversations, a set of guiding principles has been developed to shape the proposals. These guiding principles set out that the proposals should:
- Respond to the needs of the local area
- Promote public transport, walking and cycling
- Enhance local wildlife and habitats
- Support the local economy, create job and training opportunities
- Increase access to housing, particularly affordable housing
- Invest in local schools, shops, health and community facilities
- Promote new public open space, recreation and play areas
- Respond to the challenge of climate change
Below, you can find a full copy of the leaflet we have sent out to local residents to update them about the plans which have been submitted to Medway Council, and a copy of the masterplan which has been included in the leaflet.
